Clipflakes is a free video search engine that lets you create custom playlists of clips from top video sites on the internet through realtime search.

Custom Video Playlists

Clipflakes offers users high-quality, individually selected content and encourages them to create independently and creatively custom video playlists. They can chose embeddable clips from the wide variety of online available video content. Clipflakes supports a flexible and platform independent media use. The launch of http://clipflakes.tv took place on 1 July 2009. Since then the site has been constantly improved and optimized.

Social Video Search

The core of the platform is a self-developed video search engine that simultaneously searches more than 20 of the most important video portals in real time for users' favourite topics. This so far unique combination of real-time requests and local video index guarantees excellent search results. With our AJAX-based authoring tool users create custom video playlists from the search results and publish them in the showroom of Clipflakes. The creative motto of Clipflakes is: 'Be your own Web-TV director'.

Supported Video Portals

The video search engine of Clipflakes currently searches the video platforms 5min, blip.tv, Break, Dailymotion, Google Video, Funny or Die, Howcast, Justin.tv, Kewego, LiveVideo, Metacafe, Myspace, MyVideo, Qik, Revver, sevenload, Ustream, Veoh, Viddler, Videojug, Yahoo! Video and YouTube. The integration of additional platforms is planned. Clipflakes only supports providers that allow or even explicitly encourage embedding of Flash format videos to other websites. The search algorithms guarantee maximum flexibility and independence in the further development of our technology. Services from other video search engines are not used.

Team

The team consists of four experienced experts from Software Engineering, Business Administration, Graphic- and Web-Design, Marketing & PR. CEO Jens Mutschke has already established a successful Internet start-up and has 18 years experience as a Senior Software Engineer and Product Manager in the Internet-, video- and DVD-industry. Clipflakes was nominated in late November 2009 in the categories 'Most Innovative Format' and 'Most Innovative Technology' for the German IPTV Award 2009 and managed to get on the top 3 list of the 'Most Innovative Technologies'. In March 2010 the young company took second place in the category 'Digital Life Innovation B2C' at the Innovators' Pitch by the prestigious association BITKOM.
